This is the second galaxy that I've owned. The reception it pulls in is beyond any other satellite radio antenna that I've tried. It has three mounting options: On the pedestal as shown in the picture, elevated flush mount (using the upper set of screws and platform to mount with), or the straight surface mount utilizing just the head of the antenna. The base of which has a slotted bolt coming from the bottom to attach it to the surface with a underside lock nut.

I didn't give a five star only because the slotted bolt was deformed and would not thread into the antenna head. This caused me to have to change over my mounting option to the pedestal style, no my first choice. There was no time for a return as I had most of my radar arch and interior apart in an attempt to run the cable to the new Fusion Marine BB300 I was installing downstairs. The cable has to pass through the lock nut of the base's mounting bolt to work. No way am I going to take it all apart again to correct it. Not to mention, I had to tap three holes for the mounting screws that won't cover up with only mounting the antenna head .
So, word of advice, disassemble and reassemble the antenna to make sure everything fits before starting your install. That way you'll know you have options. Mike from the Lifesaport liveaboard blog
